Bow Finishing is a partnership between brothers Chris and John Bowling.

 

Chris studied Modern Fretted Instrument Making at the London College of Furniture, while John studied Graphic Design at St. Martins and the Bath Academy of Art.

 

An opportunity to work together arose in 1989 at a small polyestering firm in Wandsworth. Blossom Reproductions, run by owner Clive Cherry, gave us several happy years working on guitars and car interior woodwork.

 

Our time at Blossom Reproductions taught us the diverse nature of the finishing business and, more importantly, the standards and quality of finish required. As our expertise grew, we soon realised that combining our talents was the best path forward.

 

Over three decades on, that decision has been thoroughly vindicated. Bow Finishing has adapted and evolved, now offering guitar repairs, custom finishing, graphics, set-ups, and manufacture.
